Monforts customer Rajby Textiles is the first company in the world to achieve the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Platinum Standard for its Beluga denim fabrics. The fabrics have gained the ultimate sustainability score in all five categories covered by the C2C standard. The C2C Cetified Product Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a process to achieve a circular economy approach. The five quality categories in which products are graded are Material Health, Material Reutilization, Renewable Energy and Carbon Management, and Water Stewardship and Social Fairness.
Beluga denim fabric is based on 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and uses no hazardous chemicals in its production. It is recyclable and biodegradable, with 100% of the energy used is production offset by green energy. It is produced in a closed-loop system with no water or material waste. Monforts will be at the IGATEX International Exhibition for Garments, Textiles and Accessories in Lahore Pakistan, now from July 1-4, 2020, to present and discuss the latest technologies for sustainable denim finishing.
