Dr. Pragnya Kanade started her career in 1995 at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in the Textile Engineering Department of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering; currently an Associate Professor there. Her involvement in academia has facilitated her quest for a comprehensive understanding of various textile disciplines, with yarn winding and textile testing being of special interest. Thus far, the experience has proven to be fulfilling. Her research into wound water filters resulted in the development of an electronic filter winder (Patent no. 465821). She also invented a filter testing apparatus that was utilized to carry out the analysis that was detailed in the report. Nonetheless, her desire to contribute positively to the community drives her to collaborate with other experts and she now wants to shift her research focus on membranes. She now feels the need to change the direction of her study towards membrane filters.
